One Voice Evolving: Better You, Better World
Substack may be more subtle, but it’s the same old game I saw on Facebook when I began speaking there about racial equity. Only this time I dared to speak to women about our bodies.
I’ve always been the one to tell the family secrets. The things we weren’t supposed to say. The truths that rattle the dinner table and echo through generations.
But this one? It’s not about your family. It’s about the feed.
The algorithm has its own version of a family system—complete with rules, repression, and punishment. And the moment I posted a piece deconstructing diet culture my feed turned into a digital scolding.
Suddenly I was buried in trad wife content: Aprons. Submission. Gender roles disguised as healing. Vintage filters. Christian nationalism softened with cursive fonts. Domesticity served up as spiritual alignment.
Let’s be clear:
This was not a coincidence. This was a correction.

Algorithmic Backlash
They don’t know me very well, do they? I have a rebellious “don’t tell me what to do” teenager inside that refuses to sit down and shut up on command. Full of fight and one finger salutes.
The moment I spoke honestly about diet culture—how it trains women to shrink, to monitor themselves, to disappear—my feed shifted like a reprimand. A digital “know your place.”
The trad-wife aesthetic isn’t just a trend. It’s a soft-focus delivery system for a very old story: women as obedient, contained, ornamental. A story dressed up as empowerment but built to keep us small.
When you tell the truth about a system designed to shrink you, that system often answers back.
Not because you’re dangerous, but because you’re waking up. And awakened women are hard to package, hard to market, and impossible to contain.
If this has happened to you, I want you to know you didn’t do anything wrong. You disrupted something. You named what you weren’t meant to notice.
And the algorithm tried to fold you back into a version of womanhood it knows how to manage.
WE are not here to be managed. And this is where One Collective Voice Evolving comes into play.
If the feed shifts when we speak the truth, trust that shift. It means we’ve touched a nerve. And maybe it means we’re on the right path.
Stay loud. Stay wild. Stay unfiltered. This isn’t the end. It’s the reveal.

Because it’s not just about the feed.
It’s about who you become when the feed tries to erase you.
