You’re Not Overreacting

October 16, 2026•1 min read

A composite of women who ran the scenarios, did the math, and stopped waiting for the apology.

This is a composite of women in relationships I've witnessed in the last two weeks, myself included. Any resemblance to your relationship is not a coincidence. If the shoe fits…

  1. You're overthinking it.

No, women see the whole picture while the entitled boys in their life feel the discomfort of the moment and offer single-solution quick fixes.

I happen to like the way my mind works.

  2. You're overreacting.

No, I've run through 6 scenarios in 39 minutes and chosen the two least damaging and most honest to present to you. Just like I have every time before you and every man before you. Suddenly you see I'm not playing and still want to make that a flaw in my thinking rather than take accountability for your part.

    That's some bs right there.

  3. You're too controlling.

No, I'm a strong woman who you have let manage every goddamn detail of a life we're supposed to be building together. One person can't do the work of two.

Carry your weight or step aside. Simple.

  4. I love you more than you love me.

No, you love the way loving me makes you look or feel. When my sharp edges come out, you get little boy wounded instead of a grown ass man.

Don't make me be mean to you.

Note to self: I'm no longer waiting for my well-deserved award for things I do not say. I'm speaking plainly and clearly probably for the first time in my life.

Not massaging male egos to manipulate their response. Connecting the dots real close so there's no misunderstanding.

Love is an action verb, not a holiday gift.

Step up.
